Studio Party Deux

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Thanks to everyone who came out for our open studio party! It was awesome! We set up the “photobooth” again, but this time me and Emily had made props on sticks for everyone. We’re really happy with the results, but next time, we’ll have to go bigger and better!

Photography Classes

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

At least once a month, I receive an e-mail from someone asking advice on photography techniques. I love helping people out, and try my best to demonstrate techniques over e-mail, but I realize that alot of learning comes from hands-on instruction. I learned everything I know by watching other photographers, so I decided to offer my services to others who also would like to learn more about techniques in photography. I’m going to offer classes to anyone who wants to do what I do.

If you are highly interested in Photography and would like to learn more about shooting with your Digital or Film SLR camera, sign up for classes! Any level of experience is welcome.

Learn the basics of photography through the lens: exposure settings, composition.
Learn how to shoot with available light as well as in-studio lights.
Learn basic Photoshop editing of images; color and density correction.
Maybe even learn how to print digitally, if you’re up for it!

I have a BFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. My studio is located in Northern Liberties. I am available to schedule lessons with you on a weekly basis depending on your availability.

Classes are $40 per 2 hour session. Or $20/hr if that better suits you.

Open Studio Party

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Me and Amanda threw a little open studio party last night. We printed out some new work to display and invited some of our friends. We also set up a “photobooth” in the back and shot pictures of almost everyone who showed up. It was awesome.

studio revision, second phase

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

In September, we took the plunge to get a studio. For some time now, its been in a period of transition from a first floor row-home shell, to what is now a photographic studio. Some kinks, however, are still being worked out, but for the most part, it’s becoming a second home to me.

Our friends Joel and Kate over at Humankind Designs are also helping us with making this place work. They have built us a handmade bookshelf, and will soon be building our desk.

Today, we also had a special guest with us in the space. His name is Logan, and he felt quite comfortable.
