Come out to the 1st Annual Feast of Art on July 17th and 18th! Lots of local artists’ work for sale and free musical and spoken-word performances by locals and friends alike! I’ll have a few photos up for sale, as will many of my artist friends. Come out and join the feast!

My friend (and client) Meg Lemieur is having her work up for first friday at Higher Grounds Cafe. I’m super excited to have photographed her work, and now will get to see them in all their glory hanging up in a spectacular cafe! Not to mention, I also commissioned Meg to make me a American Bison to hang up in my studio, which will also be on display in Higher Grounds for the next month. You should all go check it out for real!

This will be the second year that I will be participating in Art Shop. What is Art Shop? It is a craft fair just in time for Christmas! It will be held on the weekend of the 5-6th of December, at 2007 Frankford Ave in Fishtown. This year 60+ artists will be selling their work. I am sharing a booth with my studio partner, Emily Wren. We’re going to be selling prints and jewelry. So come on out to Art Shop and get your friends and family great pieces of art for the holidays! Last year I did almost all my Christmas shopping there! Me and Amanda threw a little open studio party last night. We printed out some new work to display and invited some of our friends. We also set up a “photobooth” in the back and shot pictures of almost everyone who showed up. It was awesome.

I’m a part of a print exchange featuring 26 artists. The theme is the alphabet, each of us being assigned a letter. I have D.

At some point, the letters are going to be on display at The Last Drop coffee shop in Philadelphia (more details on that later).

Also, a print exchange I was involved in last year (The 50 states) is going to be shown before the movies at Ritz theaters. This will be during the next month or two.

Thanks for everyone that came out to the expo and talked to me and Amanda! We were really encouraged by everyone who told us they enjoyed our photos. Its always nice to hear from people that we’re doing a good job… especially when I get sick of looking at my own photos for too long. Amanda photographed the whole expo, so we’ll be putting a link up to that soon, and other vendors can download photos of their set-ups.

I can at least say for myself that I had a great time on Saturday. I loved so many of the outfits in the fashion show, and the pole dancing was great! Me and Amanda also tried so many delicious cakes, beer from the Memphis Tap Room, and corsets from Passional [link]!
