I went to California last month for a friend’s wedding and took a few extra days to go camping in Big Sur. Result: epic pictures.

A couple of weekends ago I was in Las Vegas for a shoot. We had a handful of free time so we drove around downtown Vegas in search of some fun and cool things to photograph. I’m really attracted to the old style signs and lettering. This may become a new off-shoot of my “landscape” photography.

So I took my holga down to Richmond, VA with me, and at some point, I noticed the shutter starting to stick. Somehow I managed to break it while I was down there, so now the shutter stays open too long, causing this over-exposed blurry type of picture. It’s mildly interesting.. but I’d rather have one that didn’t do this. So new holga is in the mail, making its way over to me.

My friend Arjun was in town the other week and we decided to drive/walk around the neighborhood to take photographs. I took him to a few places I had been meaning to photograph. Alot of these places I pass by nearly every day. It was nice to be able to focus on certain scenes, ones I never think twice about, and really let the feeling of my surroundings direct a photograph.

It was also nice that Arjun is continuously enthralled by our city, being that he is from out of town. It made me appreciate the city for what it offers me, and reminds me of why I am here.
